Directions to the conference venues

If you wish to take a stroll from your accommodation location, which is presumably somewhere in the Turku Market Square area (i.e. Turun Kauppatori), to the conference venue(s), be prepared to walk for approximately 25-30 minutes to Sirkkala Campus and PharmaCity respectively. Please see the map below for the best route:

Alternatively, you might wish to rely on a local bus network. A single bus ticket costs €2.50 and is purchased directly from a bus driver. It is valid for transfers on all local buses for up to two hours. Local buses run approximately from 6.00 to 23.00. There are also few night connections. The ticket for the night time busses is €1 more expensive.

It is also possible to get around Turku with the €5.50 Visitor’s Ticket, which is valid on all local traffic buses for 24 hours from the time of purchase. This type of bus ticket can be purchased at the Local Traffic Office based nearby the Market Square:

For timetables and route maps, we strongly recommend you to use the Brahe Trip Planner. Please enter: 1) the place of your departure (e.g. Kauppatori), 2) the conference destination – Hämeenkatu 4 (Sirkkala Campus), or Itäinen Pitkäkatu 4 (PharmaCity), and 3) the date and time of your bus ride. After pressing the SEARCH key, you will be able to see all available bus options within the designated time. Once you get off the bus in Hämeenkatu 4 from the direction of the city center (i.e. Kauppatori), walk back a bit and then take a first turn left into Kaivokatu. After a few minute walk up the hill, you will see the Sirkkala Campus’ passage on your left. If you are heading at PharmaCity, then proceed up the street Kaivokatu until you reach the street Itäinen Pitkäkatu. Turn left and you will see the PharmaCity building on your right, at the corner with the street Lemminkäisenkatu.

For other information on buses, timetables, prices, and route maps, please see the Turku Local Transport website.

If you wish to get around Turku by bike, feel free to rent one, including a helmet, for few hours or several days from the Turku Touring office. Prices: €20 / 24h, €15 / 1-4h.
